Binar (AKA Andy Pickford and Paul Nagle)
Live @ Leicester Space Centre
April 2004
After a brief break where we attended an RMI gig in Manchester, in April we attended Leicester Space Centre in order to see Paul Nagle and Andy Pickford, who are now calling themselves Binar.
Once again, the giant contraceptive that still dominates the Leicester skyline; Leicester Space Centre in all its phallic glory! You can still make out a pair of old rocket boosters hidden underneath the plastic.....
And here they are, beneath the plastic some old icons of the space race - it made me feel like I was on a James Bond film set.......
Some stuff for the gearheads - multiple sequencers, mixers and controllers - so much money spent that they could only afford plastic chairs....
A sea of Roland and Yamaha gear..... and some dodgy pants.
On with the show..... Binar dwarfed by their surroundings (they are in the bottom of the photo) - the slow shutter speed has given the light display within the planetarium the appearance of the Northern Lights....... spooky.
... another shot of the light show....
Looking like the stargate scene from 2001, more visuals under the dome....
More of the same..... "My God - it's full of stars!".....
The Planetarium projector caught in a long open shutter shot - god knows how I got this shot to work....
