Burtonwood Practice Sesh
I just thought it was time to get behind the acoustic kit in an environment where my drumming is not prevented by local Strategic Arms Limitation Treaties. Apart from little blasts in shops etc (and then very sheepishly in case I upset anyone), this was my first real sit behind an acoustic kit in nearly ten years! 16th February is also Emma's Birthday - so it was a nice way to mark that.
My I'm looking a bit upset about something here - don't worry - I'm actually very happy ..... just look how far back my left stick is - now I suppose I must face the truth and say that I really must hit them too hard!!!!
...oh dear - no wonder the Sabian hats are already showing signs of "keyholing". That basically means I would be a wiser drummer to buy some Sabian AAX Metal hi-hats - designed for heavy handed lunatics like I. Also - check out the famous old Leeds United top (so called the "Smiley") - old and worn out but still in better condition than Leeds United's balance sheet...
That ride cymbal looks a bit steep.... thank you, Mapex for super sturdy hardware!
The Mapex from above - complete with Mapex Leopard Skin Throne (yes I know it's cheesy but it's very comfortable) ... the shiny wood floor was the ultimate test for the spikes and spurs on the hardware and it passed the test, barely moving during two hours of punishment.....
...from the side.....
....and from the front..... yes she looks mean....
