Day Out near Cat & Fiddle March 2006

In March 2006 I added to my trip to Goyt Valley by just going a few miles up the road to the legendary Cat & Fiddle public house. The bridleway opposite was just one big sheet of ice and the harmless looking snow either side of the path tended to be bloody great snowdrifts. Still, I thought it would be a cool place to take Boomer for a walk.....

Boomer seems a bit indifferent to the snow...... the wind is grabbing her ear....

I must be mad - I could have just took her around the block....

My little car - the red one - outside the legendary Cat & Fiddle pub

Bit of lens flare - my fave atmospheric trick - never did anyone any harm.....

"Luke, I am your father...". Don't let the sunshine fool you, the wind chill and extreme cold led me to extreme measures - Russian hat and All Blacks scarf to the rescue.

Be careful with that snowdrift, Boomer....

Looking East into Derbyshire....

At last realising the practical value of the Russian hat I bought in Berlin in 2001. A bit silly of me to leave the camera on self timer the wrong side of a snow drift - the russian hat was very nearly the only thing in this photo.....

Looking South into Cheshire and Staffordshire.....
