Arizona Bay Special Guest Star - Chris Van Den Eijkel
Chris gives the site a bit of a European Union flavor as he hails from the Netherlands - originally his pics were in the main gallery but he has outgrown that and now has his own page. This pic (now that is what I call a drum kit!!!) was taken in the late 1970's when Chris and his band, Sugar and the Lollipops, had a hit in Europe and Scandinavia with a track called "I Can Dance". Sorry, Chris, but that one passed me by - I have heard of Golden Earring since you mention it.......
....talking of Golden Earing, Chris has also met up with Cesar Zuiderwijk, drummer with Golden Earing in the 1970's - you may remember their hit Radar Love and Cesar nearly breaking his neck on Top of the Pops when he launched himself over the kit at the climax of the track (what would Legs & Co and Jimmy Saville have thought?) - here he has taken a picture of his son (Chris junior, 12) with Cesar..... just in case you are not paying attention, Cesar is the one on the left.........
A bit more of a modern drum kit for Chris nowadays - maple Yamaha and Turkish Bronze.......

Here is Jim Den Haag (a friend of Chris?) with Jim Chapin at a recent clinic - Jim Chapin is a technical mastermind who gives us not-young-but-getting-old-drummers such hope for the future. Photo taken in early November 2003.....
