Rush Eucon 2005 - 2112
These guys were called on to close the show and they were the only of the big 3 Rush Tribute bands that I had not seen. They were just spot on - the sound was right there, the vocals were right there (though the lead singer looked a bit like Ian Gillan and that distracted me a little - just joking!) and the visuals were right there - though it did go a bit Pete Tong for us in the crowd armed with cameras when the smoke machine was set to Pea Souper! Just brilliant - if you are a Rush fan then you must catch up with these.....
Prog Rock icon - the Moog Taurus II Bass Pedals - similar sound to that achieved when you shove a new boiled potato up a blue whale's arse....
Graham's superb Yamaha kit - great setup, bathed in pink......
Marshall, Gibson & Charvel. Serious gear used by Tom O'Neil..... the numbers all go to eleven.
Marathon as played by Mark Storey on Rickenbacker bass (another prog icon) and keyboards (as well as the aforementioned Moog Taurus).
Mark again - but in Moving Pictures ghost mode - once again I have included the real thing so you can see where I was going.....
Damian Fisher on lead vocals - bathed in Orange.....
Graham Clarke hidden by his Yamaha......
Tom O'Neil on guitar...
Tom during the intro to Xanadu..... I actually am Stage Left here!
Total eclipse of Damian.....
Mark again during the intro to Xanadu.... his bonce passing in front of the lighting rig looks seriously atmospheric - as soon as I saw it I knew I had to get a piccy.....
The crowd seem well impressed! And so they should........ one of them is on his knees!
