Arizona Bay Special Guest Star - Kurtis Stadsvold

Kurtis is from Rochester, Minnesota in the good old US of A (Yar!). He lists his influences as Neil Peart (no argument from me on that one), Carter Beauford, Dave Weckl and Mike Portnoy. He also has another plus in my book as he is very fond of Mapex gear - not the Ludwig kit you see here as he has recently replaced that with a Mapex kit in Cherry Red - see the new pic at the bottom of the page.

Here Kurt is in the studio - it looks like the engineer is going for ambient miking on the kit - using the two boom microphones from above..... brilliant finish on the kit.....

Another shot in the studio - I suppose the wind chimes are his nod to the influence of Neil Peart!

Here is his mate, Korey. It looks like he enjoys the sitting about of studio work not a great deal.

Here he is with his new Mapex kit - can't fault his taste there.....
