@ Leicester Space Centre April 2005

It has been just about a year since we visited the Leicester Space Centre to see an SMD (Synth Music Direct) Gig. This is the third time I had been to see RMI (sadly one of those gigs never made it into my camera) and I was fairly confident they would be on their best form.

The giant contraceptive that dominates the Leicester skyline; Leicester Space Centre in all its phallic glory! This is always the first shot of any set of photos that I take of the SMD Gigs. No point in changing anything there then.....

Inflatable buildings impress me.... as you can see.

An important tool of the trade: the old pre-historic analogue synth - in this case a Roland

More gear for the gearheads - more synths and rack mounted sequencers for you to rumple and fetish....

From the other side - I have included this shot to show that RMI go to 11.

On with the show - the guys against a backdrop of a lunar landscape.....

Utterly dwarfed by the blue backdrop......

Another shot from the very impressive light show....

And another......

The band totally lost in the haze - but then it was a 30 second exposure. I think I did quite well.

Turned the flash on here - to reveal a bit of a Geddy Lee moment going on in the darkness.....
